Official opening of the conference "Environmental Assessments and the European Green Deal '22"

Today in Vodice, Croatia, the European and regional conference "Environmental Assessments and the European Green Deal'22“, 14-17 September 2022 under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds of the Republic of Croatia was officially opened. The conference is organized by the Croatian Association of Experts in Nature and Environmental Protection, in partnership with renowned international and local partners from the financial, business, scientific and non-profit sectors.

The emphasis of the conference is on important issues through which stakeholders are directly involved in the implementation of the EU Green Deal and the achievement of its foreseen goals, namely EU Taxonomy Regulation , which provides a financial framework for the preparation of investment proposals (projects and programs) in close connection with environmental protection procedures.

Sustainable financing should ultimately lead to a long-term increase in investment in sustainable economic activities and projects. For this reason, financial sector investments should be redirected to sustainable techniques and technologies, sustainable long-term development activities with the contribution of low-carbon and climate change-resistant economies.

At panels held today, over 300 participants were informed about the implementation of the EU Taxonomy Regulation and the principle of "Do-No-Significant-Harm" with distinguished lecturers and panelists from the European Investment Bank, as well as other renowned European and domestic institutions, ministries - patrons and the business sector.
